Saving a query as a reusable virtual table.

What is a view?

A view is a saved query that behaves like a table:

CREATE VIEW high_value_orders AS SELECT order_id, customer, amount FROM orders WHERE amount >= 100;

After that, SELECT * FROM high_value_orders runs the saved query for you. People query it by name without knowing (or rewriting) the logic behind it.
