String syntax and escapes
Slide 1 / 5'Pluto' and "Pluto" are the same string. Choose the quote style that avoids clashes: "Pluto's a planet!".
Inside a string, the backslash starts an escape sequence:
| You type | Python sees | Example |
|---|---|---|
| \' | ' | 'What\'s up?' |
| \" | " | "That's \"cool\"" |
| \n | a new line | "Line 1\nLine 2" |
| \\ | a backslash | "C:\\Users" |
