The clinic visit, step by step
Slide 1 / 51. Scheduling and pre-visit: reminders, eCheck-in in the portal (insurance, questionnaires, payment), care gaps reviewed by staff. 2. Check-in: verify identity and insurance, collect copay, print/scan documents. 3. Rooming (MA/nurse): vitals, allergies, medications, reason for visit, screenings (depression, falls, tobacco), immunization review. 4. Provider visit: review, exam, note, diagnoses, orders, prescriptions, patient instructions. 5. Checkout: schedule follow-up and referrals, after-visit summary (AVS). 6. After the visit: results, portal messages, refills, care management.
